Spotlight- Kenwood’s KMR-440U Excelon Series Marine AM/FM/CD
In today’s growing marine audio market, it makes sense to offer marine grade products, and Kenwood is no exception, having entered the marine arena with its Excelon series KMR-440U Head unit.
This deck, priced at $199.95 provides the same features and benefits found in the company’s KDC-X494 car deck but adds extra durability for the harsh marine world.
The KMR-440U comes with a front 3.5mm audio input and USB port for attaching additional sources and can fully control an iPod with the optional iPod cable sold separately. Other options that can be added include Satellite radio and HD radio with optional tuner modules. Expansion with outboard amplifiers is possible from the unit’s 3 sets of preamp outputs, which also allow for subwoofer level control from the head unit. Read more
