The Serious Autosport 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is built with only the finest components from the top manufacturers to stand up to race day, fun day or daily driving chores. The MPR Racing built 5.8-liter V8 uses a 4.5-liter Whipple supercharger to reach nearly 1200 Rear Wheel Horsepower on motor alone! If that’s not enough power there is always a NX Nitrous Express system to give us an extra 150HP boost at the press of a button. The 2-inch American Racing Headers and 3” dual exhaust are Swain Tech coated to cut down on radiant heat and optimize the flow before they exit into Borla mufflers. What that all comes down to is this Shelby sounds as tough as it looks. In the exterior department this Shelby has a one of a kind white on white paint scheme. The extreamly rare Performance White paint and Oxford White stripes really make you do a double take when you first see it.
All that power goes through a McLeod RST dual disc clutch and into a Level VII TR6060 from RPM Transmissions. A Driveshaft Shop carbon fiber driveshaft transfers the prodigious power to the fully built 9-inch Rear End from Currie Enterprises with a 3.73 gear and Moser Wavetrac Limited Slip to stand up to hard launches and last forever. 2-sets of wheels are always balanced and ready to roll for this mean Shelby Mustang. The original stock wheels are wrapped in Nitto 555R 305/35/20 Drag radials with 265/40/19 555 fronts, and the light-weight Weld Racing RT-S (18×5 and 15×10) rims have Mickey Thompson 275/60/15 ET Street Radial Pro rear and Sportsman S/R 26x6x18 front installed for track duty. For suspension, we went with a UPR K-Member and A-arms due to their light weight and high strength and mated them to Viking double adjustable shocks and Eibach Drag springs get all this power to the ground.
Inside the cockpit you would never know this was a race-ready car. Leather, A/C, back-up camera; there are all the luxuries of a show car, including an Alpine 8” screen with full Navigation and DVD player, along with a PDX-F4 amp running 4 Alpine Type R 5×7 speakers in the doors and deck. There is also a PDX-M12 mono amp running a pair of Type R 10” subwoofers in a quick disconnect box in the trunk. Both amps are also designed to be easily removed from their location under the rear deck when shedding weight is on the utmost importance. When top speed protection is needed, we have a K-40 RL360i built in radar system with K-40 laser diffusers, and the entire car is protected by a Python 2 way alarm with tracking and iPhone notification in the event of anyone getting the wrong idea.
Come by the shop any day to get a tour of this insane GT500 that we assembled in house.
