Directed’s DSM250 SmartStart GPS Interface- Waaaay Cool!

A few months back, I wrote about the DSM200 SmartStart Interface from Directed and found this to be a real nice addition to anyone wanting to add an extra level of security and control to their high-end car security system. Well, the folks at Directed have come up with something even more cool!

Directed now offers the DSM250 SmartStart GPS, which provides all the conveniences associated with the DSM200 but adds the added functionality of GPS tracking and control. This interface now includes GPS features such as GPS Fencing, SmartPark and even Speed Monitoring- making this interface a great addition. Let’s go over these great new features.

The SmartStart GPS Interface from Directed Electronics

GPS Fencing: This feature actually alerts you when the vehicle leaves a designated “zone” that you can program. This also includes a “Hot Zone” feature that can also alert you if the vehicle enters a designated “off-limits” area you also select.

SmartPark: Ever forget where you parked? The DSM250 actually remembers and shows you where your vehicle is located! Speed Monitor/ Location: You can set a designated speed limit and either monitor real time speed or be alerted when the vehicle exceeds your pre-set speed limit. You can locate your vehicle location in real time and even share your location with your friends on Facebook (if you wish).

These features come alongside the vehicle operation features including ARM, DISARM, VEHICLE START, PANIC and TRUNK RELEASE. All monitoring is handled by Directed 24/7 and you can access a vehicle alert log any time you want to review events. There is a charge for the SmartStart service, which is set up by the consumer at the time of installation.
