Car Security Control Goes Hi-Tech

I’ve sold car security systems for years, and although the basic functions of the car alarm system remain the same, a lot has changed with regards to what you can do.

The actual accessory, called the Smart Start* module, enables the user to perform functions such as LOCK, UNLOCK, ENGINE START, TRUNK RELEASE AND PANIC all from the phone’s keypad.

The DSM200 Smart Start module; which is purchased separately from the security system; works off an application the user simply downloads from Apple, Android or Blackberry. After setting your own username and password, the Smart Start module shows up on the phone as a keypad with alarm functions clearly displayed.

The main advantages of this great add-on eliminate the need to carry the alarm remote control and provide unlimited range as long as you are in an area with cellular service. These modules cost between $200-$300, depending on your phone and do not include the security system.

The Smart Start module provides benefits including:

• In-app notification of events and alarms
• Push-notification of a command has not been executed in the vehicle
• Event Logging on alerts tab

Another great benefit this add-on offers is the ability to control multiple vehicles (up to 6) as well as the ability for multiple users to control a single vehicle.
